Rules and Regulations

  1. Uniform: The school uniform is compulsory for daily classes and school functions.
    • Boys: white shirt and green pant with black belt. The school shirt should be tucked into the pant. The pant should be worn at the waist and not at the hips. House badges should be stitched on the pocket of the shirt. Boys should have neat, short hair.
    • Girls: white blouse with green pinafore and red belt. No fancy hairstyles are permitted and girls having long hair should plate their hair. Wearing jewellery to school is not permitted.
    • All the badges should be machine stitched.
    • Only black sandals (during monsoons)/ canvas shoes and green socks are allowed. No fancy sandals are allowed.
    • ID card is must.
    • On mass P.T. day students should wear their P.T. uniform according to their Houses. Uniformity in colour to be maintained. It is compulsory to stitch the new P.T. uniform.
    • Scouts/Guides uniform consist of woggle, scarf, black belt, cap, cap badge, knitting rope, white socks, scouts/guides badges and black ribbons for guides. These accessories will be supplied through the school.
  2. A child shall wear the school uniform on his/her birthday. No birthday celebration in school.
  3. Personal cleanliness is expected from every pupil. The uniform must be clean and neatly pressed, finger nails should be cut short.
  4. Students should be clean, tidy in their person and dress, respectful and obliging to the Superiors and companions. Besides paying attention to cleanliness and personal bearing they should create and maintain atmosphere conducive to serious study.
  5. A pupil who is habitually later or without the proper school uniform or books or does not abide by the rules of school, disciplinary action will be taken be the Student Council, under the guidance of Discipline Committee against violating rules no. 1-5.
  6. Discipline: Irregular attendance, habitual neglect to school work, obscenity in word or act, in-subordination to school authorities, transgression of the rules given in this calendar, cheating or any other misconduct even outside the school premises, in fact any behaviour considered by the Headmistress not suitable to the good tone and general good of the school are sufficient reasons for punishment, fines or even dismissal of the offender.
  7. Note: Care must be taken of the school property and building. Damage done by students to school property will have to replace the same.
  8. Students should procure all their books within a week of the reopening of the school. All students should have a copy of the school diary to make their proper entries and bring it to school every day.
  9. When the Headmistress, teaching and non-teaching staff enter a class room, students should stand up respectfully, greet them and remain standing till they are directed to sit. They shall do the same when they leave the classroom. When the attendance roll is taken, each student should rise and answer respectfully and also when addressed by a superior.
  10. During class no students may leave the school premises without the written permission of the Headmistress. Students should not leave the class room without the teacher’s permission. Exit pas is must. Students are not to bring more than Rs.20/- to school unless there is a collection permitted by the school authority.
  11. Reasonable petitions and observations will always be sympathetically attended to. If however they express the mind of a particular group, they should be placed before the authorities either in writing or through a chosen representative.
  12. Books other than school books, periodicals, newspapers, magazines, expensive articles, transistors, mobiles, or any other gadgets not approved by the Headmistress should not be brought to the school, or they will be confiscated.
  13. No pupil is exempted from games, yoga and physical training without medical certificate.
  14. Students are forbidden to smoke or drink alcoholic drinks.
  15. No collection for any purpose whatsoever is to be started without the previous permission of Headmistress. Presenting gifts to any member of the staff on any occasion by the students is prohibited.
  16. During the absence of the teacher the monitor will be responsible for the class. Coming out of class after the teacher leaves the class and before the arrival of the next teacher is strictly prohibited.
  17. To acquire a greater facility in study, English should be spoken on the school premises.
  18. All students have to bring their Tiffin daily. Junk food will not be allowed in the school.Those who are availing mid-day meal facility must bring a Tiffin box daily.
  19. During school hours no student will be allowed to go outside the school premises or to make any purchases from outside.
  20. A medical check-up is compulsory for all the students of STD I-VII and new entrants to the primary/secondary school as per the requirement of the Education Department. This medical check-up will be carried out by the school doctor.
  21. The academic year is divided into two terms which runs from June to October and November to April.
  22. A long bell will be given ten minutes before the morning Assembly for the students to come together in the school quadrangle in silence. At the second bell they should line up for the Assembly and maintain discipline.
  23. School hours are from 8.00 to 1.45 p.m. for Secondary and 8.00 to 1.00 p.m. for Primary students. The subject to change introduced by the Directorate of Education.
  24. Computer and dance classes will be conducted after class as per the time table.
  25. All students should come to class in time. Late comers should get the permission from discipline committee to enter the class. After five remarks parents will be called to the school by the discipline committee.
  26. Leave of absence will be granted for sufficient reasons but only on application from parents /guardians concerned. Students absent without leave must bring from their parents or guardians a note of satisfactory explanation. Entries should be made in the calendar by the parent or guardian only.
  27. After holidays, students should be present on the day appointed for the re-opening of the school. Late comers are liable to be fined or struck off the roll.
  28. Non Catholics will be allowed sectional holidays pertaining to their creed only on previous written application from their parents/guardians.
  29. Whenever there is special class or any other extra-curricular activities after school hours, parents will be intimated about it at least one day in advance in the page provided in the calendar.
  30. Students must obtain parent’s signature for special class/activities. The teachers will countersign.
  31. Whenever the remarks are given by the teachers, students must obtain the signature of the parent.
  32. If the calendar is lost parents must come and collect a duplicate calendar from the school office on payment of Rs.50/-.
  33. Parents must check the calendar daily and sign if there is any remark.
  34. Any charge in your address or phone number should be immediately intimated to the school office.
  35. The PTA is a requirement demanded by the Directorate of Education and hence all parents are expected to become its members. Moreover, they are expected to actively participate in the activities of the association. This is very essential today because the proper education of the children can only be looked after if there is a close co-operation between school and home. It is compulsory that parent should attend the P.T.A general Body Meetings.
  36. Parents must collect the report card on the date and time specified. The teachers should not be disturbed from the class for collection of report later.
  37. The management has the right to refuse continuation of the studies to a student whose conduct or influence is unsatisfactory.
  38. Students will not be allowed to take part in the activities like Scouts/Guides camp, Interschool events etc if they violate the rules No.4, 5 and 6.
  39. After the final prayer, the first bell is for the students of V-VII to leave the class room and the second bell is for the students of VIII-X.
  40. No vehicles will be allowed from the main road to the school compound without prior permission from the school authority.
  41. No pupil is to be permitted to enter the staff room and no teacher should encourage such practice for whatever reason.
